My dear students and friends, in today's article, we will know What are the 10 input devices? So let's know what happens after all?

What are the 10 input devices?

As we know that computer has no brain of its own. So whenever we have to get it to do any work, we need an input device. By which we give instructions or input to the computer. meaning

"Input Device is a device by which a user gives instructions or orders to the computer, it is called Input Device."

We need different types of Input Devices to give instruction or input to the computer. Different types of input devices-

What are the 10 input devices?

3. Joystick 🕹️

4. Scanner 🖨️

5. Light pen 🖋️

6. OMR (Optical Mark Reader)

1. Keyboard

Keyboard is the most commonly used input device in a computer. It is a peripheral device. In which there are different types of keys like -letters, numbers, characters, functions etc.

The keyboard in the computer can be connected in two ways 1- by wire (USB cable) and 2- by wireless i.e. Bluetooth. Generally there are 106 keys available in the keyboard.

2. Mouse

Mouse is also the most used input device after keyboard. It is also called a pointing input device. There are two types of buttons in the mouse - 1. Right button (right button) and 2. Left button (Left button) and there is also a scroll wheel (scroll wheel).

We use the right button for special operations, apart from right-clicking it pops up the shortcut or context menu.

Left button is used to open any folder or file or document etc. by double clicking.

The scroll wheel is mainly used to roll up or down the screen (document or folder).

You can find different types of mouse in the market such as USB mouse i.e wired mouse or Bluetooth mouse ie wireless mouse etc.

3.Joystick

Joystick is also an input device, it is like a mouse, it is used to play any type of video games. It also has different types of buttons

4. scanner

Scanner is also an input device, it is used in college or schools or offices or malls or shops etc. to make soft copies of hard copy images and store them in the computer. And by making a copy of the text or picture, it stores it in the computer.

5. light pen

It is also a special type of input device that is used to create a graphic or some design on a large screen, it is in a way similar to a pen.

6.OMR (Optical Mark Reader):-

OMR is an input device which is used to read the OMR sheet.

OMR Sheet is a paper which is used to solve any objective question offline in the exam.

7.OCR (Optical Character Reader)

It is an input device. The full form of OCR is Optical Character Reader. Which is used to convert handwritten text or image written on paper or printed text and image into machine encoded format.

It is completely different from the scanner because the scanner scans the document and stores it in the form of an image in the computer while OCR reads the text written on your document and enters it into the computer.

8.Barcode Reader

It is also an input device which is used to read the code hidden in the barcode lines. Barcode is a black colored vertical line. In which the name of a product, price of the product, batch no., company name etc. is hidden.

9.QR Code scanner

It is also an input device. It is slightly different from barcode and much better in appearance because a lot of data or information can be saved in it. Nowadays its use has increased a lot. As the person scans the images of QR codes in PhonePe or GooglePay or paytm etc. to transfer money.

You will be able to see it in all the shops of today, as well as whatever goods you buy, then you scan that QR code from your mobile's PhonePe or Google Pay or paytm and make payment.

Even now this facility is available in What's app and Facebook also by scanning the QR code and logging in. QR code is quite secure.
